Abstract

There is various research paper across the world have emphasized on using the Reclaimed asphalt pavement. As the fact of using recycling asphalt pavement has many befits i.e. economic benefits as well as environmental benefits. But the main situation to using the RAP on the pavement is due to the non-availability of material and due to the shortage of the aggregate sources. As we know the bituminous asphalt pavement are badly damaged with the time and traffic. This require removal of existing pavement surface to the depth of base course. Recycling such pavement material with the construction waste material from sustainability point of view and reduce the exploitation of natural resources. This study was aimed to investigation the Engineering properties effect of using RAP and CSA in their natural state by conducting common laboratory tests to analysis the strength and interpret the optimum allowable percentage as partial replacement of CSA blended with 15/85, 25/75, 35/65, 40/60, 50/50 proportions by total weights from the two quarries site in Pithoragarh District. According to the performance evaluation test on the materials shows that RAP contents were successful replaced CSA in highly trafficked unbound road base course layer of Asphalt concretes.
