The main objective of this project is to develop a CAD model of torsen differential for SAE SUPRA vehicle by using SOLIDWORKS and perform the simulation considering different materials. ANSYS-15 is the simulation software utilized for finding stresses, strains and deformation of mating gears under the torque supplied by the engine to the differential and comparing results for different materials. The static structural analysis was performed on the differential gears. The materials selectedfor the analysis are Aluminum-7075, Steel-4340 and Grey Cast Iron.
