| Abstract: | The internet has considerably enhanced various business critical operation of companies of different industry sector across the globe. However, as more and more organization become partially or completely dependent on internet, computer security and the threat of computer criminals come to the foreground. A single network infiltration can cause severe losses totaling in millions of dollars. Unfortunately, most organization across the globe continue to remain oblivious o to the threat posed by computer criminals, corporate espionage and cyber terrorism. Ethical Hacking – also known as penetration testing or white-hat hacking involves the same tools, tricks, and techniques that hackers use, but with one major difference: Ethical Hacking is legal. Ethical Hacking is performed with the target’s permission. The intent of ethical hacking is to discover vulnerabilities from hacker’s viewpoint so system can be better secured. It is part of an overall information risk management program that allows for ongoing security improvements. Ethical Hacking can also ensure that vendor’s claims about the security of their products are legitimate |
