Abstract: In response to the escalating need for efficient and safe fuel dispensing systems, this study introduces a pioneering approach utilizing Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for petrol pump automation. The innovative system merges RFID tags and readers into the fuel dispensing process, presenting a streamlined and secure solution for petrol pump operators and vehicle owners alike. The process initiates with RFID tag validation as vehicles approach the fuel dispensers. Each vehicle is fitted with a distinct RFID tag, and the system verifies the tag against a centralized database containing crucial vehicle information and account particulars. Upon successful validation, the system grants authorization for the fuel dispenser to initiate the dispensing process. Notable features encompass real-time transaction recording, enabling comprehensive monitoring of fuel consumption and aiding in inventory management. The central control unit, powered by a microcontroller, orchestrates seamless communication among RFID readers, the database, and the fuel dispensers. A user-friendly interface empowers petrol pump attendants to oversee transactions, manually authorize fueling when necessary, and access detailed reports. Furthermore, the system facilitates secure billing and payment processes, guaranteeing a convenient and trustworthy experience for users. Through the implementation of robust security measures such as encryption and secure communication protocols, the system protects sensitive data and mitigates potential vulnerabilities. This RFID-based petrol pump automation system not only amplifies operational efficiency but also tackles security apprehensions in fuel dispensing. The study explores the system's architecture, the integration of RFID technology, and its ramifications for the petrol pump industry. The proposed solution signifies a significant stride towards modernizing fuel stations while ensuring a secure and user-friendly encounter for both operators and customers.
