Abstract: The Bet Dwarika or Shankhodhar Island of Okhamandal region, has been considered as part of ancient city of Dwarika state Rulings i.e. the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. It is a narrow Island with 11 sq. Km. area and major elongation direction of NE-SW in the stretch of 13 Km length, located in the Gulf of Kutch, Arabian sea, India. The Satellite image study reveals that morphology of Island and configuration of sea shore out lines matches and resembles with the mainland. It indicates that the Island had been detached in geologic past from the mainland since the rock types lithology is similar to mainland Dwarika City except the recent deposits of alluvium. The geomorphic process and tectonic activity caused the separation of this Ancient Kushdwip and submergence of some portion at the continental margin. The histo – archaeological evidences also supports the contemporaneous settlement, existence of Town, Civilization of Ancient Hindu Culture and states reigns. The geomorphics units and features of Island shows that major portions of southern Island is covered with the dense forest, mangroves, wetlands whereas North and Eastern flank of Island has been continueously facing the erosion by wind action and sea waves, produces sand dunes and alluvium, widens the beach zones at an increasing rate. It needs conservation of ecosystem in the Island to reduce erosion and expansion of barren lands in the fertile soil zones.
