Abstract:
Although we know Black Cumin, which is commonly known as kaala jeera, is one of the most common spice used in Indian kitchen and has many medicinal uses such as neurological and mental illness, cardiovascular disorders, cancer, diabetes, inflammatory conditions, and infertility as well as various infectious diseases due to bacterial, fungal, parasitic, and viral infections. But in this article we are reviewing that uses of black cumin constituents in skin treatment such as acne, redness and most important it shows antimicrobial, antiviral, anti bacterial, anti parasitic activity etc. In this article we are showing that what kind of constituents present in black cumin such as thymoquinine(TQ) , thymohydroquinone, dithymoquinone, thymol which responsible for treating skin infection. Focus on antimicrobial effects, different extracts of N. sativa as well as TQ, have a broad antimicrobial spectrum including Gram-negative, Gram-positive bacteria, viruses, parasites, schistosoma and fungi. The effectiveness of N. sativa seeds and TQ is variable and depends on species of target microorganisms. In this review paper briefly describe all antimicrobial activities that have been carried out by various researchers
