Abstract: Now a day’s scientific investigations of medicinal plant using native medical system has attracted a lot of attention worldwide. Our planet is rich of many medicinal plants that have their therapeutic agent for the prevention and cure of disease and ailment. From the ancient time plants play an important role in the treatment of disease and have a central role in human health. Medicinal plants are a rich source of bioactive secondary metabolites which have a broad range of medicinal use. So this is the reason that now we are turned to medicinal plants and currently 90% of drugs are made from natural or semi synthetic origin. Analgesic is a substance that reduces pain. Analgesic is also called as painkiller. They reduce pain without losing consciousness. It is derived from Greek word “an” means “without” and “algos” means “pain”. The analgesic drugs act on the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system in various forms. There are various sources by which analgesic drugs obtain they may be of natural analgesic and synthetic analgesic. Source of natural analgesic are opiod analgesic Aloe-vera barbidensis , Glycyrrhizin glabra, Zingiber officinale, Clove, Turmeric etc. This review gives information about different analgesic which are obtained from natural source.
