| Abstract: | Murraya koenigii is also known from different names like Curry leaves, Meetha neem, Curry patta in different region of countries. Curry tree belongs to family Rutaceae, Which is native to India, Sri lanka, and many parts of south east Asia including Indonesia, Thailand.It is one of such traditional medicinal plant which is used to cure different ailment due to its protecting ingredients.It is used from Ancient period as spices and traditional medicine in Ayurvedic system. It can be used against inflammation and itching. It is also used in different pharmacological activities like anti inflammatory, anti oxidant, wound healing , anti cancer, immunomodulatory, anti fungal etc. It is packed with carbohydrates, Fibre,calcium Iron, Vitamins and many protective ingredient which are used for several pharmacological activities.The whole part ( leaves, stem, root etc.) of Murraya koenigii are used as medicine. If Murraya koenigii is eaten in empty stomach may help in loss of weight, it us full of many nutrients that promote good health and increase our capacity to combat ailment line bad cholesterol, diabetes and obesity. Traditional medicine has negligible side effect. Curry leaves has no harmful effect on both liver and kidney, so it is beneficial to use as anti diabetic antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. This review article focuses on phytochemical and pharmacological aspects of the plant. |
