Abstract:
The existing system utilized for distributed computing is centered on proprietary servers that are set up to host additional resources to aid in such services. These ‘Data Centers’ serve as an expensive and restricting resource that is constantly in need of high and redundant power for cooling systems and assured availability. In addition to this, it has been noted that there are billions of underutilized Personal computers that are capable of providing a vast consolidation of computation capacities. The proposed model aims to tackle this situation by gaining permitted access to these underutilized resources and creating a platform that consolidates these resources to provide additional computing power for the provisioning of distributed computing and parallel program execution. The platform is designed to work on the basic idea of a distributed network, where the accessible resources are distributed among requesting users on the bases of individual needs. Each user that opts to use the above mentioned service will join the peer to peer network in the form of the devised architecture and will be permitted to use the idle resources of other nodes on the network for personal benefit. They will also be required to make voluntary contributions in the execution of other nodes’ parallel programs. The users are interconnected to stimulate a peer to peer architecture that also makes shared resource identification and utilization hassle free over the proposed platform. The user can choose to leave or withdraw the shared resources from the platform at any time by leaving the network; in which case the network architecture accounts for this loss, but returning conditions will be met as per proposed network architecture standards.
