Abstract:
Staphylococcus aureus are the most common pathogens found in community acquired infections. Antibiotic resistance by bacterial pathogens causes a wide range of illness from skin infections to severe bacteremia and sepsis. MRSA strains are most common cause of emerging nosocomial infections and are considered as a major problem for public health. The aim of this present work is to screen Bacteriocin (MRSAcin) from MRSA by spot on lawn method and its activity was tested by indicator microorganisms (S.aureus, E.Coli, Pseudomonas, Klebsiealla) by AWD method. Antibacterial activity was determined in arbitrary units (AU/ml) Bacteriocin is highly thermo stable and PH stable in nature. It also showed stability against various organic solvents, salts, surfactants and proteolytic enzymes. A pool of effective medication may be offered to beat the recently emerging drug resistant bacterium.
