Abstract:
Suppose when a structure is subjected to earthquake, it responds due to vibration . This motion causes the structure to vibrate or shake in all three directions An earthquake force can be resolved into three mutually perpendicular directions-the two horizontal directions (x and y) and the vertical direction (z); the major direction of shuddering is horizontal. The grade of concrete and reinforcement detailing influences the behavior of the structure. The response of the structure is studied with Sway and non sway analysis has been done in this study. The main objectives of the present work is to study the performance of a multi storied Reinforced cement concrete building with irregular in shape subjected to earth quake load at different Zone condition by adopting Response spectrum analysis. The present study is restricted to Reinforced cement concrete multistory building with two different zones II and IV. The building model in the study has ten storey’s with constant storey height of 3m and foundation of 1.5m height. The analysis is carried out with the help of ETABS.
